Vision

    "    Uniting the power of Thai higher education, science, research, and innovation to transform the country for rapid and sustainable development, enhance competitiveness through a value-created economy, and prepare for the future.      "

Mission (Authority and Function)

(1) Promote, support and supervise higher education to keep pace with global changes, with academic and administrative independence, to develop human resources to meet the needs of the country, and to conduct research and create innovations to develop communities, society and the country in science, technology, social sciences, humanities and interdisciplinary fields.

(2) Promote, support and supervise research and innovation of higher education institutions and research and innovation system agencies under the Ministry or under the supervision of the Minister, including coordinating with research and innovation system agencies outside the Ministry to create cooperation and proceed in a direction that is linked and consistent with the national science, research and innovation policy, strategy and plan.

(3) Establish an ecosystem and key infrastructure to develop higher education, science, research and innovation, including promoting cooperation to produce highly specialized human resources and cooperation in research and innovation with government agencies, the private sector, local government organizations and individuals or agencies in foreign countries.

(4) Other operations which are prescribed by law as the duty and authority of the Ministry.

In carrying out (3), the Ministry may assign its affiliated or supervised agencies to carry out the operation, or may cooperate with local government organizations, private agencies or foreign countries.
